Michael Mette, Chairman
Michael Mette, a 21-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, is the Founder and Chairman of the Chicago Blue Line Support Foundation. Driven by his Catholic faith and a profound respect for the sacrifices of others, Michael established the Foundation to provide spiritual, emotional, and practical support to Chicago Police officers and their families, ensuring no officer feels forgotten, whether on or off duty.
A lifelong public servant, Michael also serves as the First Vice President of the Fraternal Order of Police, Chicago Lodge 7. He is a passionate advocate for officer wellness and a proud supporter of initiatives that honor the fallen and uplift the living. His deep commitment to the law enforcement community is further demonstrated through his involvement with organizations such as Law Enforcement United and the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
Michael leads with compassion, integrity, and purpose. He is also a devoted father of two, finding strength and inspiration in his family as he works to build a stronger, more supported police community in Chicago.
Theresa Kelly
Theresa Kelly, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and active Chicago police officer, is the Treasurer of the Chicago Blue Line Support Foundation. Coming from a proud Chicago police family, a long line of first responders, and over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, her commitment to officer wellness runs deep. Theresa's dual career in policing and counseling gives her a unique understanding of the emotional challenges that come with "the job". Her holistic approach to healing and recovery within the law enforcement community provides a valuable contribution to the mission of the Foundation.
Danny McGuire
Dr. Danny McGuire, Jr., MA, MPA, MS, PCC is a former second-generation law enforcement professional with over 20 years of combined service in the Chicago Police Department and Cook County Sheriff’s Department. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Public Service Institute at Calumet College of St. Joseph, Director of First Responder Wellness at Jacquelyn Augustine & Associates, and CEO of Crosstown Coaching.
With advanced training and experience in leadership, coaching, and trauma-informed care, Danny is committed to supporting police officers and first responders through resilience-building and trauma recovery. His work bridges practical experience with academic insight to improve well-being and performance in high-stress professions.
Barbara Bunville
Barbara Bunville’s career is a testament to her unwavering commitment to public service, rooted deeply in her innate servant’s heart. For over 25 years, she has dedicated herself to serving the citizens of Chicago, working in various communities and assuming roles that reflect both her compassion and leadership. Her professional journey has spanned multiple disciplines, with a primary focus on enhancing the well-being, safety, and personal development of others.
A profound sense of duty and integrity has marked Barbara’s tenure with the Chicago Police Department. In her capacity as a sworn officer, she was responsible for protecting life and property, preventing and suppressing crime, and enforcing the laws and ordinances that uphold public order. Her experience extended beyond routine patrol duties—she played a critical role in training and mentoring fellow officers, recruits, and civilians alike. Whether in the Police Academy or out in the field, Barbara served as a reliable source of knowledge and support, helping others develop the skills necessary to perform their duties with professionalism and purpose.
In addition to her law enforcement service, Barbara also operates as an independent psychological counselor. Her clinical practice is centered on delivering high-quality, confidential counseling and therapeutic services to a diverse client base, ranging from adolescents to older adults. With empathy and clinical precision, she works to help individuals navigate life’s challenges, manage mental health conditions, and achieve their personal goals. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and a deep respect for the dignity of every client she serves.
Barbara’s dual career paths—public safety and mental health—are bound by a singular mission: to improve lives and empower individuals. She exemplifies a rare combination of strength and sensitivity, ensuring safety in the community while fostering healing and growth on a personal level.
